Host FAQs

Everything you need to know about earning with your car on Car4Hires.

Your earnings depend on your car model, your city, and how often your car is available. A well-kept car in a busy area can bring in roughly ₹20,000 a month, and often more.

For a figure tailored to you, try the Earnings Calculator on the Car4Hires Host website, which uses live demand data.

It's a simple formula: hourly price (set by you) × booking duration × 13% host share.

You choose your hourly rate on the website and keep 13% of every completed booking. Your payout grows as you complete more trips and add more cars.

Bookings that end during a week (Monday to Sunday) are totalled together and paid out every Tuesday. Money goes straight to your registered bank account, and you can follow your earnings on your dashboard at any time.

No. Every deduction and earning appears in the statements and invoices on the website.

Car4Hires charges a one-time platform fee of ₹999 and a monthly GPS device fee of ₹499. Both are shown clearly and deducted automatically from your earnings.

Your car is protected in several ways:

  • A GPS device for live tracking
  • Instant alerts for unusual location or activity
  • Aadhaar and driving licence checks on every guest before they can book

Yes. Any damage that happens during a booking is covered, provided it is recorded in the checklist at the start and end of the trip. Car4Hires takes responsibility for approved damage claims, so you aren't left with surprise repair bills.

Car4Hires offers damage protection on every booking. Damage that occurs during a trip and is logged in the pre-trip and post-trip checklists is fully covered.

No. As long as the damage is reported through the trip checklist on the Car4Hires Host website, Car4Hires covers it under its host protection policy.

Every guest goes through a strict KYC process:

  • Aadhaar verification to confirm identity
  • Driving licence check to confirm they can legally drive
  • Selfie match against the photos on their Aadhaar and licence

Only guests who pass all three steps can book.

Bookings are pre-verified, so once a booking is confirmed you're expected to honour it. Unjustified cancellations or refusing to hand over the car can lead to penalties.

In exceptional cases, such as a guest who appears intoxicated or unfit to drive, report it through the website or to support and the team will step in right away.

Our central and on-ground support teams will guide you through the legal and insurance steps. Damage logged in the checklist is fully covered. For theft or total loss, you're compensated at the Insured Declared Value (IDV) in the Car4Hires policy once the investigation is complete.

Yes, 24x7. Our partner network handles towing to the nearest garage, minor repairs, and emergency help during a booking, which keeps downtime short.

Routine upkeep is yours: oil changes, brake pads, AC servicing, and general wear and tear. Treat these as running costs of your rental business.

Damage caused during a single booking, such as dents, scratches, or a broken window, is covered by Car4Hires if it's reported in the trip checklist.

A good rule is every 10,000 km or every 12 months, whichever comes first. Regular servicing means smoother rides, fewer breakdowns, better reviews, and more bookings.

It must meet all legal and safety requirements. We recommend a mechanical and safety inspection at least once a year.

Brakes, steering, tyres, and lights should be in excellent shape. If quality issues are reported, your listing may be paused until a certified mechanic's report is submitted.

Absolutely. You can pause or stop your listing from your dashboard whenever you need the car, then switch it back on when it's idle.

Fuel top-ups, reimbursements, and fuel-level differences are settled directly between you and the guest. Car4Hires doesn't step into fuel disputes, so agree on the expected fuel level for pickup and return at the start of each booking.

Yes, there are no limits on intercity or interstate trips.

FASTag issues, such as low balance, failed scans, or wrong charges, are handled between you and the guest. Keep your FASTag active and agree on how tolls will be settled.

No, hosts can't set area restrictions. Instead, live GPS tracking protects your car. If it enters a suspicious or high-risk zone, our system alerts the on-ground team, who act immediately.

No. You can list a private (white-plate) car without commercial permits or extra paperwork. Car4Hires handles platform compliance for you.

Record all visible damage in the post-trip checklist on the website. Car4Hires then pays for repairs under the host protection policy and compensates you for the downtime while the car is in the garage.

In serious and rare situations such as theft, accidents, or illegal activity, our team supports you with legal procedures and paperwork.

Everyday matters like fuel or FASTag charges should be resolved directly with the guest, so clear communication from the start helps.

Yes. We follow applicable data privacy laws and industry-standard security practices, including secure servers, encrypted communication, and controlled access to your information.

When a customer books your car, you receive all of the customer's details by email and on WhatsApp. You can then coordinate directly with the customer about pickup details, fuel level, and car condition.

The renter pays a cancellation fee, and you still get your 13% share of it, just as with a completed trip.

  • The guest arrives at the pickup point and uploads photos of the car
  • A booking OTP is shared with you, and you give it to the guest to start the trip
  • At the end, photos are uploaded again and a final OTP exchange closes the booking

This checklist documents the car's condition and protects you from disputes.

Reach the dedicated host support team through the chat or call option on the Car4Hires Host website. Whether it's a coordination problem, a damage concern, or something unusual, help is available.

After each booking, guests rate and review your car and service, and the ratings appear on your dashboard. We also send performance insights and tips to help you improve your rating and win more bookings.

  • Go to the Car4Hires website and fill in the List Your Car form
  • You'll then land on your dashboard, where you can add your cars and their details live

There is no sign-up or listing fee, so you can list your car with no upfront cost. (Platform and GPS fees apply once you start earning, as described under Earnings and Payments.)

About 10 to 15 minutes if your documents and photos are ready. Upload the details on the Host website and you're done.

On your dashboard you can edit photos, features and amenities, and pickup location. To change core details such as transmission type, registration number, or model variant, contact the Host support team.

That's up to you. After onboarding, set your own minimum and maximum booking lengths under Preferences on the Host website. Short trips are common, but longer availability often means higher occupancy and earnings.
